From Agnes (Eniz) Scott. My granny comes from Hurlford. Her father went to USA just after she was born. Initially he sent some money home but after a while he was never heard of again. I found him on a ships manifest at Ellis Island, New York. The manifest gives some interesting details e.g. destination; Rose Farn, Ohio; Home address Raerburn or Raeburn Cottage, Hurlford. His name was James Currie and he was 25 years old in 1911 when he arrived in New York. He left 3 daughters Mary, Cathy and Agnes. Agnes was my granny and I was named after her, Agnes Currie McKenna now Scott. His father was on the ship (The Caledonia)along with him but he returned home at some point. His father also travelled on the same ship in 1906. They were both miners. Have you any idea where Raerburn or Raeburn Cottage is?
